On Friday, December 10, the Lead Game Designer of MetaRace Horse Racing, Tom Agnew, joined the MetaRace team on Discord for an AMA session to spread the word about the game within our community.
The session was held in three parts: Introduction, Q&A, and Community Questions. If you missed this insightful AMA, hereās the chance to get a recap of everything Tom shared with us during the session.
Part 1 ā Introduction
Ambrose: Please introduce yourself and MetaRaceĀ® to us! What can playerās look forward to in this project?
Tom Agnew: MetaRaceĀ® Horse Racing is the first competitive metaverse game to launch on the MetaRace platform and incorporates exciting play-to-earn (P2E) features. Built on the blockchain and designed to simulate real-life horse racing, MetaRace takes the racing experience into a futuristic virtual world, in stark contrast to existing horse racing blockchain games. Players can buy, trade and upgrade their horses, and earn tokens as rewards in multiple ways, including competing in races, operating a race course, placing wagers and more!
Part 2 ā Q&A
Q1: What was the original idea behind MetaRace Horse Racing? What stage of development has it reached?
Tom Agnew: Horse racing is a long-established sport with a rich history, while blockchain, NFTs and the metaverse are todayās most cutting-edge technologies, allowing us to break free from the physical world and access a more advanced and immersive virtual world. The MetaRace team is taking advantage of this technology to bring the passion and excitement of horse racing onto the blockchain and into the metaverse. With MetaRace we wanted to combine traditional sporting values with online gaming, play-to-earn and the utility of NFTs, and from these ideas MetaRace Horse Racing was born. We believe the seamless integration of three multi-billion dollar markets (horse racing, online gaming, NFTs) is a force multiplier with immeasurable potential value for our users.
Q2: MetaRace is a horse racing game based in the metaverse with a futuristic theme and robotic horses. How does this help to differentiate MetaRace from similar games and what are the projectās highlights?
Tom Agnew: MetaRace Horse Racing is different from all other horse racing games. We have built some amazing sci-fi style elements into the game ā including the incredible design of the horses ā which fit perfectly with the teamās vision of the metaverse and how it will lead us into the future.
MetaRace Horse Racing is the ultimate fusion of horse racing x NFT x gaming. MetaRace Horse Racing uses genetic algorithms and RNG (Random Number Generator) techniques to create unpredictability and challenges in races, while at the same time providing players with multiple opportunities to earn rewards. NFTs are not just a collectorās item in this game! Players can become horse masters, mechanics and stable owners and earn income by racing, trading, or upgrading their NFTs. As we continue to develop the game we will introduce Extended Reality (XR) to amplify user experience with high quality 3D video and audio, providing the perfect gaming environment while truly immersed in the metaverse.
Q3: Good partnerships are an important factor in the success of a project. Who are your partners and how are you benefitting from their partnership?
Tom Agnew: Good projects always attract high profile partnerships and I am very pleased to confirm we have received investment from mainstream institutions around the world, but we cannot announce them yet! Q4: Could you please provide some progress on the Metarace roadmap and results achieved so far?
Tom Agnew: We will be opening the whitelist for NFT horses very soon ā watch this space!
As outlined in the roadmap, during the initial stages of development we are primarily focused on the core user experience, improving gameplay and P2E functionality. In the game the player will have the opportunity to interact with millions of sports and horse racing enthusiasts in real time. Whether you are breeding horses or racing in competitions, you can enjoy the excitement, challenge and reward of participating in a thrilling sport.
In subsequent phases of development we will introduce Extended Reality (XR) technology through the integration of wearable devices, so players can intimately experience the whole process of raising horses, interacting with horses, training and developing horses, decorating horses, and even riding horses in a virtual reality environment! You will be able to ride a horse in the field in a seamless convergence of real and virtual worlds. This is the gameplay we will realize for you in the future of MetaRace.
Q5: In addition to participating in races and winning prizes, what other ways can I earn income, and on what platforms can we play-to-earn with this game? Is there a mobile app?
Tom Agnew: In addition to participating in horse racing competitions we also provide wagering for casual players. Players do not need to participate in competitions in order to place wagers on races and have the opportunity to make substantial profits.
Players can also obtain the right to operate a race course by pledging tokens, and will then receive operating profits from the course as a reward on their investment.
In addition, key NFT content includes not only the horse itself but accessories such as saddles, saddle pads, tail accessories, jockey clothing, helmets and other add-on components, all of which have significant value and can be collected and traded.
We will launch the game with a web-based portal and wallet integration. In the second phase we will launch iOS and Android apps. In the third phase we will launch Extended Reality (XR) integration to enable a fully immersive user experience through wearable devices!
Q6: What benefits can I get from holding your NFTs?
Tom Agnew: Holders of MetaRace Horse Racing NFTs can earn multiple benefits through the gameās advanced tokenomics and reward systems:
NFT holders can earn tokens as race prizes by finishing in the top three places.
NFT holders can earn generous overall ranking rewards at the end of each season by regularly participating in races.
NFT holders can breed the next generation of racehorses from existing NFT horses and earn revenue through the sale of the new NFTs.
NFT holders can also sell their NFTs in the secondary market to gain additional revenue, with the rarer horses attracting the highest prices.
There are even more opportunities for revenue: you can also rent your NFT horses to other players to breed or compete, through direct peer-to-peer rentals, enabling you to earn tokens by partnering with players who have the time and ability to upgrade your assets.
Q7: What are the current ways for players to own MetaRace robotic racehorses?
Tom Agnew: The team has decided to make MetaRace NFT racehorses available in the following ways:
Community events: follow MetaRace Horse Racing on social media! We will be hosting occasional community events through which we will distribute whitelist spaces for the NFT horses.
IGO (Initial Game Offering): follow the project to discover forthcoming launch events on some of the mainstream IGO platforms.
Auction: we will also auction off some of the NFT racehorses on our official website: https://www.metarace.io
Secondary Market: Players should also keep an eye on the secondary market as our NFT horses will be available to buy on mainstream NFT platforms!
Q8: Is it necessary to hold a MetaRace NFT to play this game? Does MetaRace Horse Racing have any plans to consider a multi-chain release?
Tom Agnew: We have a number of ways to play! To race horses you will need an NFT, but as long as you have tokens you can place wagers on races or pledge tokens to operate a stable and earn rewards. We will also be implementing standards for horses, accessories and tracks so that players can eventually design their own NFTs and participate in the development of the game as part of a āfree-to-buildā function, planned for a later stage. Note that player designs will need to pass a community governance vote before they can be added to the metaverse!
The MetaRace team is definitely considering plans for multi-chain distribution. High quality metaverse public chains will be considered, including Binance Smart Chain (BSC).

Q1: Which of these aspects is the highest priority for you?

Tom Agnew: All of the points you mention are important to us, but we give special priority to platform development and business expansion. Of course, price is an important indicator of overall value, so we will always be mindful of token price and aim to bring more value to holders. We will fulfil all of these priorities to our greatest ability and in doing so believe we will earn the trust of the community.
Q2: Why should I hold?
Tom Agnew: Because weāre going to the moon!!!
Q3: I am interested in getting into MetaRace and know very little. What should I pay attention to to buy my first horse, learn about genetics/breeding, and how to make money?

Tom Agnew: We are in talks with multiple exchanges and will provide information relating on where to invest in the near future. Please make sure to whitelist as soon as possible to guarantee your allocation.
Q7: Did you consider community feedback/requests during the creation of your product in order to expand on fresh ideas for your project? Many projects fail because the target audience and clients are not understood. So Iād like to know who your ideal consumer is for your product?
Tom Agnew: Yes, we have. At MetaRace we are constantly looking at ways to provide additional benefits to our community and provide further development.
Q8: What strategy will you implement to bring non-crypto-natives into your ecosystem? How do you keep a balance between developing the technology and also improving the value of your token?
Tom Agnew: One of our main focuses is to remove as many barriers of entry as possible and to provide a user-friendly experience to all of our Racers regardless of their technical ability.
